Lincoln County Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Bookkeeper.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination of the monthly financial activities for the agency.
  • Serve as assistant to and work closely with Public Health Director.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance to GAAP and all other state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and quarterly tax reports.
  • Manage public health taxing district account.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assure anticipated revenues are accounted for and posted correctly, key monthly journal entries and expense re-classifications.
  • Process all monthly and annual close procedures for the agency including bank reconciliation.
  • Oversee payroll.
  • Oversee banking services.
  • Oversee and assist with annual financial audit.
  • Attend quarterly board of health meetings, prepare board packets, take notes, and prepare minutes.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and complete all required health department trainings.
  • Serve as administrative assistant and work closely with Public Health Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience Requirements:

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience.

Benefits: This is a full-time position. The benefits of this position include retirement benefits with the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority, health and life insurance through Kentucky Employees’ Health Plan, paid holidays, sick and vacation leave accrual, and other optional insurance benefits.
